Lowbeam

Lowbeam privacy policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Lowbeam is a music player for a Navidrome (or other OpenSubsonic) server that you run or have an account on. It has no backend of its own. The developer does not receive, collect, store or sell any information about you or about how you use the app.

What the app sends, and where

Lowbeam talks to exactly the servers you sign it in to, and to nothing else. To those servers it sends:

What your server does with that, including forwarding scrobbles to a service you have linked it to, is governed by whoever runs the server, not by Lowbeam.

There are no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs that phone home.

What the app keeps on your device

Removing a server in Settings, or signing out, deletes its sign-in details. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, removes everything.

When Lowbeam runs in a car (Android Automotive OS or Android Auto), the car's own media interface is shown the titles, artists and cover art of what you browse and play, and voice requests are passed to Lowbeam by the car's assistant as text. That is how every media app works on those systems; Lowbeam sends nothing to the car maker or to Google itself.

Children

Lowbeam is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children.
